Advanced Practice Nurses are the cornerstone as they serve as a leader, facilitator, consultant, change agent, researcher and educator to both facilities and patients. The nurse practitioners are recognized as the leaders in nursing, bringing with them knowledge on medical practice guidelines, clinical nursing methodologies as well as patient care techniques.
The nurse practitioners identify with the roles and responsibilities of nurses and providers alike, and understand the challenges unique to each discipline. In addition, the nurse practitioners serve as effective mentors to the nursing staff.
